Obituary
Luz Elenia Santiago Ocasio, age 64, born November 6, 1958, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2023, in Cape Coral, Florida. She was surrounded by her brother, Victor Santiago; her sister, Sonia Santiago; along with her sister-in-law, Nellie Santiago; brother-in-law, Patrick Murnane.
Luz Elenia was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to her late parents, Rafael Santiago and Luz Maria Ocasio.
She was the second oldest of siblings.
She leaves precious memories with everyone she touched with her Angelic innocent love.
Luz Elenia will be missed greatly by her nephews, Victor Jr and Eric; her niece, Serena; in addition to her two great nephews, Isaac and Giovanni.
She was deeply treasured by everyone. She loved family and enjoyed family festivities. She was devoted to our Dear Lord and Blessed Mother. Her passion with food, Diet Pepsi, and Coquito carries so many funny stories. She was definitely the best long lasting card player and ball player there could be. Dancing to and singing her favorite songs, “Tú Estás Aquí”, “Alabaré” among others, were joyful expressions that we all cherished and loved.
Our beloved sister’s ashes will be taken to Ciales, Puerto Rico and be reunited with our parents and our brother, Raffy, all of whom cared for her very much.
To our Angelic sister Luz Elenia:
Our minds will continue to talk with you,
Our hearts will look for you,
Your memories will live forever in our Hearts.
You taught us that there are no disabilities in life and what unconditional love means.
We know you always have had a special place waiting with our Savior. Please give our “bendiciones” to Mamí and Papí, and our dearest brother, Raffy. God bless you. You’ll always be, Our Special Angel!
Oh, my dear Angel, a year ago today we were singing Christmas carols in Spanish and enjoying our favorite holiday. There are no words to describe the emptiness. I feel without you. I can’t help but cry. My heart is broken. They say time heals all.wounds… i’m still waiting. I miss you so much. I love you forever and a day my loving angelic sister.
Today, my sweet Angelica sister you get to celebrate Mami’s mommy’s birthday in Heaven together with Papi and Ralphy. I am sure that the celebration is grand. I can only imagine how beautiful it must be. I can just imagine The joy, laughter, and the singing. But my heart still aches, and the absence is so grand. I love you all so much. There’s no greater love than the love of family. Te amo mi angelito.
I know you are hugging me now. I love and miss you so much my sweet Angel. Dios te Bendiga hermanita.
