Obituary
Margaret E. McCormick, “Maggie”, 82, passed away January 1, 2023 with her husband John by her side in The Plantation, Leesburg, Fl. Maggie was born in Kittanning, Pa. For the past 3 ½ months her husband John was her caregiver at their home where she passed away peacefully in her sleep.
Maggie never met a stranger and touched the lives of so many during life’s journey. Spending much of her life as a Medical Transcriptionist she moved to Pine Knoll Shores, NC in 1998, continuing as a Medical Transcriptionist working from home. She met John on the beaches in Atlantic Beach, NC short after and love blossomed. They were married on a cruise ship with family in attendance in 2001. They returned to Pine Knoll Shores and went on to build a home in Atlantic Beach, NC. Later they decided to move to Beaufort, SC area and built a house on Harbor Island, SC, living there for a number of years. While being warm there Maggie decided she wanted warmer weather and in 2020 they moved to The Plantation in Leesburg, Fl.
Always one with a curious creative bone in her body she ventured into sublimation, imaging photos onto numbers of products and of course she really had a knack for it. Maggie & John opened a shop in Beaufort SC starting with Maggie’s artwork & later expanding to other categories.
The outpouring of Love & friendship for Maggie was unbelievable and at last count 164 people expressed their Love for Maggie. She was a wonderful caring special lady.
Maggie is survived by her Husband John, 2 sons Steve McKelvey in Ford City, Pa., Roger McKelvey in Florida, NY, Roger’s significant other Reny Gervais in Santa Rosa, Calif, 2 grand-children, Shannon in Santa Rosa, Ca., and Allison Mendoza, husband Shawn & her first Great granddaughter Scarlette in Charleston, SC. Maggie also had a special niece, Sandy Fish in Lower Burcellm, Pa., along with two special friend in Kittanning, Pa., Vanessa Crissman and Herb & Pammie Coggin,
Maggie will have a simple cremation and return home with John and when John passes he’ll have the same and Maggie’s son Roger will then scatter their ashes in the waters off Clearwater Beach, Fl to swim with the Dolphins.
Maggie sounds like she had a wonderful, creative life and so loved.
Blessings,
Liz Wille
