Margaret M. Simpson, 90, of DeLand, passed away with her family by her side, on July 27, 2022 at the Florida Lutheran Senior Center. A native of Herrin, Illinois, she moved to this area from West Palm Beach in 1999 with her late husband, John F. Simpson. Margaret worked for the Federal Employees Credit Union for 20 years, serving as president for the last 10 years and retiring in 1992. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in DeLand, and was also active in the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory; her daughters, Patricia A Sutherland, Nancy L. Hanna, Marcia L. Barry (Doug), and Gail A. Briant; her step daughters , Mary L. Hamlin, Jacqueline Hollman (Al), and Virginia Emory; 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren , 6 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret is preceded in death by her step son Robert F. Simpson and her great granddaughter Brianna R. Culpepper.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on August 27th at 10:30 am in the St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Belleview, Florida.
