Obituary

Margaret Mary Trench, also known as Meme and Nana, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2024, at the age of 74 in Ocala Florida. She was born on November 9, 1949, in Chicago Illinois, to the late Marge and John McGuigan.    Marge was a vibrant and lively individual who cherished every moment of her life. She had a deep love for camping and enjoyed many adventures with her husband, Rich.          UNO was a favorite game of hers, and she would often play at family parties. Marge’s porch was a gathering place for her friends, where they would spend countless hours talking and enjoying each other’s company.   Family was everything to Marge, and she poured her heart and soul into her children, Rick(Ann) and Tom(Christina), as well as her grandchildren, Ellie, Haley, and Sofia. She adored spending time with them, especially when they visited her at the camper, where she would take them to the pool all day long. Marge also cherished her relationships with her siblings, Carole O’Malley(Ed), Jim McGuigan(Val) and Gayle McGuigan-Fritz(John). She shared many treasured memories with her sisters, particularly during their travels together.   Marge was known for her willingness to lend a helping hand, positive attitude towards life and to provide a listening ear. She had a warm and caring nature that endeared her to those around her. Marge was an avid Chicago Bears fan and would watch and cheer them on whenever she could. Marge had a sweet tooth and had a particular fondness for ice cream. She often joked, “Life is short, eat dessert first!” Her infectious laughter and occasional bursts of song brought joy and laughter to those fortunate enough to know her.   Marge’s educational journey began at St.Gerald primary School and continued at Queen of Peace High School. She valued the importance of education and instilled this belief in her children and grandchildren.  Marge is survived by her loving husband, Rich Trench, her children, grandchildren, and her siblings. She was also a cherished aunt to numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.   Services will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois. The date of the ceremony will be sometime in June.  Marge will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her spirit, love, and zest for life will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
