The circle of life was completed for Marie H Hintz on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 in Ormond Beach, Florida. She was born on November 23, 1928 in Beverly, New Jersey to Daniel and Alice Horner. As a child she moved to Pennsylvania. While working at Sears in Elmira, NY she met her first husband Delbert Smith with whom she had five children. Later she drove a schoolbus and was president of Jackson Township Republican Women’s Club. She also worked on the Election Board in Millerton, PA. She moved to Florida in 1959 and she and her husband were owners of Smith’s Grocery Store in Holly Hill, Florida. In 1972 she moved to Samsula. She was a past member of the Samsula Women’s Club and worked the Election Board in Samsula for 20 years. Marie was an employee of Sopotnic’s Corner Tavern. In 1986 she married Donald “Jake’ Hintz and they were married for 26 years. Jake preceded her in death on January 2 of this year. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling in their motor home, shelling on Sanibel Island, working cross word puzzles, crocheting, reading and caring for her Dachshund Missy and her cat Fred. She is survived by her children Dale Smith, Nancy Lee (Ken), David Smith (Rita), Dennis Smith (Darlin) Mark Hintz (Diane), Cindy Conley (Tom), Donnie Hintz, niece Mary Elizabeth DeLosh (Ed), mother-in-law Alnora McFadden, 15 grandchildren, eight great grand children and extended family members Patricia Smith and Anna Briggs.       She is predeceased by her daughter JoAnne Brinker and step son Gregg Hintz. Marie's long life touched many people and she will be missed and cherished by her family and many friends. Visitation will be Saturday, August 17, 2013 from 2 to 4 with Life Celebration at 4:00 PM at Baldwin Brothers Heritage Place 1 North Causeway New Smyrna Beach FL. Following services the Three B Ladies will host a dinner at the Samsula SNPJ Lodge 421 N Samsula Drive Samsula, FL.
