Obituary

Marion M. Oldham 84, of Estero, Florida passed away on 14th day of December, 2023, in Estero, Florida.

Marion was born April 1, 1939, in Joliet, Illinois; the daughter of Michael and Helene (Korica) Schusner. She married Robert D. Oldham, the love of her life, in St. George Serbian Church in Joliet on July 26, 1958.

Surviving her is her beloved husband, Bob. Also surviving are two children, Michelle (Terry) Bannon of Lombard, Illinois and David (Jan) Oldham of Estero, Florida; seven grandchildren, John (Elizabeth) Oldham of Fort Worth, Texas, Colleen Bannon (Brian Manjarrez) of Wheaton, Illinois, Michael Oldham of Brookfield, Illinois, Jacob Bannon (Michelle Yeong) of Lombard, Illinois, Shelby Oldham of Braidwood, Illinois, Alexis Oldham, and Roberto Oldham; three Great Grandchildren, Mason and Madeline Oldham of Fort Worth, Texas, and Liam Jones of Braidwood, IL. Several cousins also survive.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Sylvia Schusner; and several aunts and uncles.

Marion attended the University of St. Francis, graduated from Joliet Jr. College, and Joliet Township High School with the class of 1957. She completed her career with Argonne National Laboratory as a Sr. Employee Benefits Specialist following 20 years of service. After her retirement, she moved with her husband, to the Stoneybrook Golf Community in Estero, Florida.

Foremost in her life, Marion loved and cherished her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. After retirement, she enjoyed the time she was able to spend golfing with her husband. Marion loved to cook and bake and often mailed packages to her grandchildren who missed their favorite goodies. She loved entertaining friends and family. Marion was also an avid artist and a member of the Estero Art League. She delighted in creating paintings for people to enjoy and donated many paintings to charities. Marion often created special items for family and friends that she made by knitting and crocheting. She also had a great group of friends with whom she played cards on a weekly basis.

As per her request, she was cremated and her ashes will be joined with those of her husband when he passes away. A private memorial will be held by the family at a later date.
