Obituary
Marjorie Cardoza was born Marjorie McCarthy, October 23, 1949, to humble beginnings in Portland, Jamaica. She was the 5th child out of 7 children. Marjorie was a determined child. Ever since a horrible accident in her youth which left her in a coma, she found her calling. She wanted to become a nurse, and nothing would sway her path. She got married and still pursued her path. She graduated from Hunter College with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with her RN license. She worked as a nurse in multiple departments at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, NY for 20 years until she settled into TPN and nurse/staff education. While working at Brookdale, she raised 3 children: Hillary, Colette and Keiran. Towards the end of her career at Brookdale, Marjorie went on to get her Master’s degree in Nutrition which opened up new paths forward. Besides her career, Marjorie has traveled extensively throughout the world and has been to 39 countries. She was an artist, a singer, a businesswoman, a plant lover, and she was the best friend any person could have. She has helped countless people in her life. She was a very feisty woman. She stood up for what is right, she stood up for herself and she stood up for those she loved. Marjorie had a heart of gold. She was loved by all who have met her. Marjorie has left behind her 6 siblings, 3 children, 2 grandchildren and close friends and family to serve her next life in Paradise.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 2:00-4:00pm at Baldwin Brothers Timber Ridge Chapel, 11250 SW 93rd Ct. Rd., Ste. 300., Ocala, Florida 34481.
