Mary Ellen Kazanjian, 63, of Lehigh Acres, passed away Friday, February 16, 2018. She was born August 14, 1954 in Medford, MA to Lloyd and Jane Krieger.

Mary Ellen grew up in a family of eight, with 5 siblings: Lloyd P. Jr, Robert, Gary, Christina and Jane.  She realized early to hold those family bonds in the highest regard, and she held that belief her whole life.  Mary Ellen fell in love in her home town and married David Kazanjian, with whom she had three daughters: Kristen, Danielle and Dianna.  She worked her entire life to provide and support for, as she put it, her three greatest accomplishments.  The thing that Mary Ellen loved most was spending time with her family…both the family she built at home, through lifelong friendships and through her career serving the Lee County Port Authority, where she dedicated over 20 years and where her second family remains.  She was blessed with three daughters who hold her same values of loyalty, strength and love of family.  Mary Ellen was also blessed to be a grandmother of four amazing grandchildren: Alessandra, Isabella, Jasmin and Caiden, with whom she cherished every moment she shared.  Mary Ellen was a loving mother, a steadfast friend, an unapologetic realist, and always there for anyone, anyone who she held in her inner circle.  She is survived by her sister and brother, Christina and Robert, her daughters, Kristen, Danielle and Dianna, and her grandchildren, Alessandra, Isabella, Jasmin and Caiden.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Jane, and her siblings, Lloyd P. Jr, Gary and Jane.

In lieu of flowers, the family of requests donations be made to Hope Hospice of Lee County in Mary Ellen’s name.

Mary Ellen’s family will welcome friends to share stories and celebrate her life on the beach at Big Carlos Pass (Lovers Key State Park), across the road from the Lovers Key Resort (Flippers on the Bay restaurant) on Saturday, February 24th at 4:00pm.
