Obituary

Mary Jane Alaspa, 64 died peacefully, at home, January 2, 2016, after a 5-1/2 year battle with cancer. Mary was born in Soudan, MN, December 3, 1951. She was united in marriage, June 6, 1970, to Clyde Alaspa, in Tower, MN. In 1977, the couple, along with their two children, relocated to Sault Ste. Marie, MI. In 2003 the final move was made to The Villages, FL.

Mary was a devoted wife and mother who loved spending time with family and friends, volunteering, and watching her children and grandchildren participate in school and athletic events. She was their biggest fan. Mary also enjoyed many outdoor activities, including golfing in which she accumulated 3 holes-in-one.

Mary always enjoyed working and truly valued the many friendships that were formed while working at the Villages Golf Division . Mary was kind and soft-spoken, and always had time to lend an ear to a friend. She is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator.

Survivors include her Husband of 45 years, Clyde Alaspa, Son Ryan (Cindy) Alaspa, Sister Peggy (Charles) Adkisson, Sister-inLaw Deborah (Frank) Preshiren, Grandchildren Max Menerey, Ryley, Haley, and Lilly Alaspa, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Mike and Anne (Zavodnik) Simonovich, In-Laws Clifford and Mae (Laine) Alaspa, and in 2014 daughter Jodi Marie Warner.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mark The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Wednesday, January 20th at 10 AM.
