Obituary

Melissa Dianne Pulliam, 37, of Longwood, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017. She is survived by her life partner, Jaclyn Smith, her parents Ronald and Cynthia Pulliam, her brothers Joe Jr. and Jeffrey Kissinger, along with many other friends. Melissa made an unforgettable impression on all who were fortunate enough to have met her. Family, friends, and co-workers alike were touched by her straight-forward authenticity. Melissa never minced words or beat around the bush; she told you what she thought and was truly honest and genuine. While this may have rubbed some the wrong way, there were few, because her personality was infectious, fun, disarming, and attracted people from all walks of life. She was absolutely fearless in her approach to challenges, opportunities, hardships, and life in general. She wanted to see, touch, taste, and experience the entire world around her; a genuine appreciation and lust for life. We might think of Melissa’s life as one that connected and touched so many different kinds of people in a very positive way, now gone, she will be missed, yet remembered and cherished deeply by the lucky people that had her in their lives. A celebration of life will be held for Melissa at her parent’s home in Longwood on March 19th. For updates regarding the celebration contact Jaclyn at jrs6188@yahoo.com.

Dear Ron and Cindy, I know how deeply it hurts to loose someone to that awful disease. Melissa and I had some in depth conversations during our golf games and I hope that I was able to help her in some small way. She was way to young to lose the battle but she never stopped fighting a valiant was. We will all miss her brave soul. Love , Valerie

Strength and comfort to all those who knew and loved Melissa. I only knew you for a short time Melissa, but you were so impressive! You had such a knowledge of so many things and always eager to discover and learn more. Wow, what a golfer you were. So amazing how fast you picked up the game and passed so many of us by with your improved skill. You left the world a better place and are missed!
