Michael Gravelin, 67, peacefully passed on Sunday, June 8, 2014. Born February 24, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Helen and Noble Gravelin. Michael spent most of his life following his passion for music by traveling and performing throughout the US and many parts of the world as an entertainer on both land and sea. After retiring to The Villages in 2006, his love of music prompted him to form The Hampton Singers, a Village resident guitar and singing group. These musicians, singers, and friends brought him so much joy, challenge, and satisfaction. He so valued the time spent with them over the past six years. Michael is survived by Ellen his devoted companion of 18 years, brothers, Patrick and his wife, Sue Gravelin of Scottsdale, AZ and David and his wife, Jan of Port Charlotte, FL and sons, Jeff of North Carolina and Joshua of Michigan. Private Services will be held by the family.
I am so sorry to hear about Mike's passing. He will be sorely missed, especially on Wednesday evenings. I joined his singing group a year and a half ago. Inspite of my lack of talent, he was always friendly and encouraging. The Hampton Singers will not be the same without Mike. I am hopeful that the group will continue in his memory.
So sorry to hear of Michaels passing. Thoughts and prayers are with you.
