Obituary

Mildred Marie Martin, 89,  of Port Orange died Thursday, June 17, 2010.  Mildred was born November 21, 1920 in Barton, MD.   She married the love of her life James J. Martin and after traveling around the United States during WW II they settled in Miami, FL in 1953 where they raised their three children.  Mildred and James moved to this area in 1989.  She worked at the Anchorage Restaurant for many years before she retired.  Mildred was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed for caring and gracious ways.  She was preceded in death by husband and son, Timothy.  Mildred is survived by her devoted children, Kirk (Barbara) Martin of Port Orange and Cindee (Danny) Alvarez of Valrico, FL;  four grandchildren, Alicia, Audra, Phillip, and Timothy; three great grandchildren, Alexandra, Nicholas and Charlie and her brother, Robert H. Kirk.  At Mildred's request there will be no services

    I am sorry for your loss. Mildred and my sister, Dorothy Ann, were classmates and friends. I remember when she sang with my Uncle Harry (Clark) and the Star City Five and how much I enjoyed her singing.
