Obituary

FRED SHARIFI   October 21, 1941  – January 23, 2020

 Our beloved husband and father, Fred Sharifi died January 23, 2020 as result of Alzheimer’s Dementia.

He was born “Mohammed Hassan Sharifi”  October 21, 1941 in Khorramshahr, Iran to Abdollah and Maryam Sharifi.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mahine and her husband  K. Kabganian, his brother- in -law, Rahmat O’lla and his sister-in-law Mary Lou Ainsley.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Margaret (Magi) Ainsley Sharifi and his sons Mark and Matthew Sharifi, his siblings: Iraj Sharifi (Azra),

Touraj Sharifi (Susann), Farideh Sharifi Khoshamooz (Jamshied), Manije and his brother-in-law Michael Ainsley as well as  numerous cousins,

nieces and nephews world-wide.  His family called him “Fereydoun” which translated to “Fred” when he came to the United States in 1966.

He lived in Lawrence, Kansas, New York City,  New York and Ormond Beach, Florida.  He attended Kansas University and 

Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.  During his college years he gravitated to the restaurant and entertainment industry, finding a new career.

His most memorable venues included Cobbs Corner on 5th and 9th and The Playboy Club in New York City, The Pump House East Restaurant in Daytona Beach, 

Church Street Station and The Grand Bohemian in Orlando. His happiest times were hosting get-togethers for his friends, traveling with his family and sailing  

The essence of his personality and the memory we will cherish the most was his innate ability to always project kindness and love to everyone he met.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 1pm  at The First United Methodist Church, 336 S. Halifax Drive, Ormond Beach, FL 32176.

A Reception will follow at the family home.
