Obituary
On May 24, 2016, the world lost an amazing lady named Nancy Escudero Jones, age 67. She was born in Dayton, Ohio, and moved to the Halifax Area in 1970. Though Nancy’s lifetime occupation was listed as “beautician,” she actually was a spectacular magician when it came to transforming her patrons’ hairstyles from the ordinary to the extraordinary. Among the locations where she worked were Jack & Jeans, Hair Cuttery and Riviera Assisted Living Facility. In addition to her talents as a hairdresser, Nancy was well known for her tidbits of knowledge, coming up with answers to the most puzzling of questions! Nancy was a member of the American Legion, and she loved to spend time with her kids and grandkids and playing Scrabble. Nancy was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 33 years, Merle Jones, and her beloved son, Raymond Escudero. She is survived by her brother, Robert Escudero of Hattiesburg, MS; son Brian Jones, Daytona Beach; daughters Kelly Brumbaugh, Nicholasville, KY, and Tina Jones, Daytona Beach; four grandchildren and one great grandchild; dear friend Linda Gambino; and her faithful dog, Jack. The family will hold a private service and requests that, instead of flowers, please consider a donation in Nancy’s name, to the Center for the Visually Impaired, 1187 Dunn Ave., Daytona Beach, FL 32114.
