Obituary

Nancy Lemmond Haynes, 75, peacefully passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018 at her home in the Villages, Florida.

She was born August 13, 1942 in Brunswick, GA and attended Glynn Academy.  Upon graduation, Nancy received a music scholarship from Carson Newman College located in Jefferson City, Tennessee.  While there she married and had 2 children, Kathy and Ronnie.  She and her family moved to Nashville, Tennessee shortly after her husband graduated.  She spent the majority of her life in Nashville raising her children and going back to college where she earned a BA from Middle Tennessee State University.  Her various jobs included working in the music industry, Print industry, and advertising.  She was also a talented organist as well as pianist and served in music ministries at several churches in the Nashville area.  Later in life, she worked for Lithographics, Inc. and CNA, both located in Nasvhille, Tennessee, where she applied her artistic abilities.  Once her children were grown, Nancy and her longtime companion, Herb Woodard, moved to Mount Juliet, Tennessee and then in 2014 they moved to The Villages, Florida where they lived until her passing.

Nancy enjoyed days spent at the beach, St. Simons Island being one of her favorites.  She was always expanding on her creativity by attending classes in pottery, jewelry making, painting, and knitting.  She loved playing bridge and mahjong with her many friends.  She was a member of a recorder musical players group as well when she lived in Mount Juliet.

She was survived by her longtime companion, Herb Woodard, daughter Kathryn Elisa Reagan and husband Mark of Gatlinburg, TN, son James Ronald Haynes, JR. and husband Brad Wermager of Chicago, IL, grandchildren Brittany Reagan Heath and husband Jon of Maryville, TN, Kaitlin Reagan Phillips and husband Chris of Gatlinburg, TN, Andrew Dillon Reagan of Gatlinburg, TN, great-grandchildren Brooklyn Faith Green, Hadley Rose Heath, Wiley Jack Phillips, her sister Carolyn Lemmond Rankin of Jacksonville, FL, brother Walter McKittrick Lemmond of Murfreesboro, TN, sister- in- law Ann Lemmond of Texas, niece Victoria Rankin Parker and husband Will of Safety Harbor, FL, Frederick William A. Rankin and wife Jennifer Coates of Fort Collins, CO, Richard Lemmond, Jenifer Lemmond of Texas.

She was preceded in death by her father Walter Murray Lemmond, her mother Lura McKittrick Lemmond, and brother Richard Lemmond.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 4:00pm – 6:00 pm at the Mannatee Recreation Center located at 1512 Hillsborough Trail, The Villages, FL
