Obituary
On January 10, 2022, Nellie DiFranco loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 97. Nellie was born to Frank and Nellie (Uraszak) Wojewodzic on July 11, 1924 in Port Henry, NY. She was the oldest daughter of 8 siblings and took on the role as matriarch at the tender age of 12 upon her Mother”s untimely death.
She married the love of her life Daniel DiFranco and they spent most of their years in Torrington, CT raising their son Frank. Nellie was a hard worker and ran a store with her husband. Her main love was her family as she was fondly known as Nonie to her grandchildren. A shrewd card player, she loved to gamble and spend time with her friends in Daytona Beach Shores, FL, cook delicious foods, bake her famous carrot cake and crochet.
Nellie was preceded in death by her loving husband Danny. She is survived by her son Frank DiFranco, grandchildren Christopher DiFranco, Alisa (DiFranco) Rosebush (John), great-grandchildren Brooke and Alex, her sister Mary and many friends and extended family. A graveside service will be held at a later date at St Thomas Cemetery in Southington, CT. Condolences may be sent to 1458 O’Conner Ave, Melbourne FL 32940.
We surely missed her when she moved from Oceans West. Her carrot cake was like no other as was Nellie. Her memory will always be with us.
