She grew up all over the world. Starting school in Manila, Philippines. She graduated from the Escola Americana in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1947. She also graduated from Chevy Chase Junior College in Washington, DC and went to work for the military. Married in 1952, in Yokohama, Japan to Donald J. Kennedy of Detroit, Michigan. They were stationed many places, including ten years in Germany. Don retired in 1968 and they moved to Winter Park, FL. In 1979 they moved to New Smyrna Beach.

Nina’s many interests were her family. Five children, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, gardening and her “Stuff.” She was truly blessed during her life.

She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Don, 2002. Also, by her daughter Nina Rose, 2008.

She is survived by her son John (Jeanette, Bridget, Lilly Anne and John) of Winter Park, son Michael of New Smyrna Beach, daughter, Lori Carter (Jed, Jake and Hunter) of Gainesville, GA., son Christopher (Lisa, Kaelan, Belle) of Hilton Head Island, S.C., Nina Rose’s sons Mathew Wall (Brody, Kelly, Ryan) of New Smyrna Beach and Ryan Wall of New Smyrna Beach. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to either St. Jude’s Hospital or The Habitat for Humanity.
