Obituary

Norma Good, 92, of Venice, FL and formerly North Canton, Ohio went home to be with her LORD and Savior on March 26, 2024. Norma was born January 8, 1932 in Syracuse, NY to the late Paul and Lora Dale. Norma was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother She was a Realtor for 52 years at Good Real Estate Education Enterprises and retired from Malone University as their Real Estate Coordinator after 10 years of directing and teaching their real estate education program. As an active member of the Stark County Association of Realtors she served as their President in 1983. She was 1980 Realtor Salesperson of the year and 1985 Realtor Broker of the year. She created and taught the Real Estate Exam Review class for over 15 years. She served her local Women’s Council of Realtors as President and was named their Woman of the Year in 1981. Twice her local association and the Ohio Association of Realtors (OAR) named her Outstanding Educator of the Year. She holds the GRI and was a GRI instructor for OAR. She taught continuing education courses in Ohio, KY, and WV. As a member of the National Real Estate Educators she earned the Distinguished Real Estate Instructor Emeritus. The Ohio Association gave her the Distinguished Service Award for her many years of service on the state level. She served as an Ohio Real Estate Commissioner for a five-year term. She served on various positions with the Ohio Division of Real Estate under five different superintendents. The Stark County Association founded the Norma L Good Scholarship fund to help Realtors further their education. She also received the Lifetime Achievement Award from Stark County Board of Realtors for her distinguished career as a Realtor. Norma belonged to the National Association of License Law Officials, and was a charter member of the Ohio Real Estate Educators. She was a 1949 Lehman High School graduate and received a BS in Music Education from Malone University She was employed by The Timken Co. in Salary Payroll, taught music in the special education classes for the Canton City Schools, and did substitute teaching in North Canton and Plain Local.

In Canton she was a 27 year soloist and choir member with Christ Presbyterian Church and a 44 year choir member at Faith United Methodist Church in North Canton where she also directed the Cherub Choir. She belonged to Canton Civic Opera, Canton Symphony Choir, Ruth Cogan Alumni Choir, Malone Alumni Choir, and did solo work in many local churches. She was a Past President and Lifetime member of the North Canton Jaycee Wives and served on HOF committees. Norma was active in the National Aplastic Anemia and Myelodysplastic International Foundation serving as a patient liaison and an education committee member since she was a long time survivor of MDS.

She always quoted her GREATEST accomplishment in life to be her family, all of whom she loved very dearly. She was preceded in death by siblings, Jack, Lois, and Nancy Dale. She is survived by her best friend, her husband of 55 years, Robert C. Good, and sons, Thomas (Cindy) Frakes of Venice, FL, Alan (Julie) Frakes of Wilmington, NC, and Eric Good of Waynesburg, OH; grandchildren; Lindsy (Mike) Kennedy, Cortney (Mark) Sketch, Kristin Nelson, Brittany Frakes, and Chas Gessner, 8 great grandchildren all of whom she cherished; Sister-in-law, Rev. Dr. Nancy and her family. Services will be at Faith UMC, 300 9th St NW, North Canton on Monday, May 6.  Calling hours will be at 10AM with a Celebration of Life service at 11 conducted by Rev. Dr. Nancy Conley, Inurnment will follow in the Columbarium at Faith UMC.
