Obituary
On Sunday, December 10, 2023, Oliva Joseph Tetreault, age 76, of Ocala, Florida, passed away at home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his wife, Geraldine, and his three daughters. He was born on December 11, 1946 to his parents, Ovila and Cecile Tetreault in Burlington, VT. He attended Holyoke High School in Holyoke, Massachusetts. By trade, he was a Drywall Finisher. Later in life he owned and ran a motel with his wife in Groveton, New Hampshire for 22 years before retiring and moving to Ocala, Florida. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. His family and friends will always remember him as a warm, helpful person and instigator. When you needed him, he was there for you. His friends knew his as “Tate”
Tate is survived by his wife of 45 years, Geraldine Juettner Hutchens Tetreault of Ocala, Florida; children, Roxann Bradley (Michael) of Westfield, Massachusetts, Paula Duhon (Pierre) of Lenox, Massachusetts, Pauline McClaflin (Brian) of South Hadley, Massachusetts, Thomas Tetreault of Westfield, Massachusetts and step-son, Dan Hutchens of Warrior, Alabama; brothers, Luke Tetreault (Linda) of Chicopee, Massachusetts, Germaine Tetreault (Irene) of South Hadley, Gerard Tetreault of St. Camile, Canada, Rachel Tetreault of Barton, Vermont, Albert Tetreault (Tina) of Springfield, Massachusetts; his brother in law, Dan Juettner (Bonnie) of Speedwell, Tennessee; and his sisters, Marie Masse of Lincoln, Rhode Island, Lorraine Thibeault (Max) of Two Rivers, Wisconsin. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ovila and Cecile Tetreault; sister, Fernand and brothers, Norbert and Ronnie; his brother in law, Donald Juettner, sister in law, Ginny Taylor; step-sons, Charles, Richard, Frank and Kenneth Hutchens.
At Tate’s request there will be no services. If anyone so desires they can have a mass said in his name at the church of their choice.
You took the time to help us with our projects whenever we needed you. You always had unique ideas about how to fix everything and those ideas worked! You will forever remain in our hearts. We will miss you.
