Patricia (Patti) A Anhalt, 57, formerly of Orlando, FL passed away from a severe intestinal infection on Friday, May 31st, 2013 at Dr. Phillips Hospital in Orlando, Florida where she had been treated for two months leading up to her death.
Patti was born December 2, 1955 in Fukuoka Japan daughter of the late Carl Scott Sr. and the late Tazuko (Matsubara) Scott. She was a 1973 graduate of Zama High School in Japan and later attended Hartnell College in Salinas, CA. Patti worked as a supervisor for Electronic Data Systems (EDS) in Salinas from 1984-1991. While working for EDS, she met Michael Anhalt and the two were married on December 1, 1990 in Pinole, CA. They transferred with EDS to another account in Illinois living in Gurnee, IL and later Kenosha, WI while working for EDS at Ft. Sheridan, IL. Patti and Michael moved to Manitowoc, WI in the fall of 1993.
While residing in Manitowoc, Patti was a very active member of the Manitowoc International Relations Association (MIRA). Anyone that spent time with Patti knew that she identified strongly with her Japanese culture. She loved to share her Japanese heritage with everyone and especially with the children that participated in MIRA’s annual Manitowoc/Kamogawa student exchange program and the adult delegations that traveled to Kamogawa. She was a resource to the Kamogawa travelers, preparing them for their trip to Japan, and helping them feel as comfortable as possible while they explored the Japanese culture. She was an ambassador and a second mom to the Japanese kids that came from Kamogawa. Next to her children and grandchildren, Patti’s participation in the Manitowoc/Kamogawa sister city program was her proudest legacy. Patti and Michael moved from Manitowoc to Florida in the fall of 2007 where they lived until Patti’s passing.
Patti enjoyed reading, spending time with her children and grandchildren and cooking. Cooking was Patti’s passion. Her favorite way to show love for people was by feeding them. She spent a large part of her time researching and trying new recipes, planning meals, creating her own recipes and shopping for ingredients. Patti loved to cook and bake and nothing brought her more happiness than seeing people enjoy her food.
Survivors include her husband: Michael Anhalt (now living in Waukesha, WI); a son and daughter-in-law: Eric (Robyn) Whipple; and their children; Danielle and Dylan all of Orlando, FL; a son: Nathan Anhalt and Andrea Hoppe; and their children; Nina Gordon, Sean Hoppe, Colin Anhalt and Iris Anhalt, all of Milwaukee, WI; a son Robert Anhalt of Tallahassee, FL; a sister and brother-in-law: Judith Ann (James Jr.) Raible of Salinas, CA; a brother and sister-in-law: Carl (Ulyanna) Scott Jr. of Salinas, CA; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Jeff and Carolyn Anhalt; Mark and Kandi Anhalt all of Manitowoc; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Paul and Sally Anhalt of Waukesha, WI. 19 nieces and nephews also survive.
