Obituary

Patricia Casey Duane passed away from cancer on July 7, 2022. She was born to Regis and Catherine Casey on July 6, 1944 in Johnstown, PA. She graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. She married Alexander Duane and together they moved to Silver Spring, MD. Pat taught Special Education in various Montgomery County Public School. After retiring from teaching she started her own crafting businesses to include, Wood Wall Ups, Chesapeake Crab Kit Co., Chesapeake Cottage Crafts, Cracker Cottage, and Casey’s Creations. After their many travels, they ended up settling in Silver Springs, Fl. She volunteered for the COP Program (Citizen Observer Patrol) with the Sheriff’s office, and as a docent and volunteer at the Silver River Museum.

Pat loved music and traveling, crafting and coloring, and especially her two cats.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alexander Duane, her parents, Regis and Catherine Casey, and her sister, Mary Sue Beckage. She is survived by her daughter Julie Kloetzli (Robert) and stepson Jimmy Duane (Uta), her 3 grandchildren Laura, Linda and Wendy and her 2 cats CC and Newt.

    Pat was one of my favorite customers at the Silver Springs post office. She came in almost daily to mail her Casey’s Creations art work. I always enjoyed talking to her, especially about our cat’s adventures. She is a bright light and I will miss seeing her shine❤️
