Obituary

Peggy O. Romanelli of Venice, FL was promoted to Heaven peacefully in her home on Dec. 3, 2020 at the age of 88, after several years of declining health.

Peggy was born in East Texas. on August 29, 1932, to Robert Lee and Bertha Conner. Peggy loved Jesus with all her heart and served Him faithfully all of her life. She was devoted to her husband of almost 60 years, Dr. Frank Romanelli of Venice, FL, and family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. She was a caring and dedicated professor, knowledgeable Bible teacher, accomplished pianist and organist, and a wonderful cook! She was called on often for guidance and counsel and made an impact in the lives of many.

Peggy earned AA, BBA, and MBA degrees, and retired as a full professor of business in 1995 after almost 20 years in higher education. She was beloved by her students and peers and stayed connected to many of them throughout her life.

Peggy was also a dedicated student and teacher of the Bible and was a featured speaker for many different groups. Throughout her life, she served in leadership roles in several organizations including as the VP for Romanelli Ministries, VP of the Houston, TX chapter of Women’s Aglow Fellowship International, and as President of the Corpus Christi, Texas Restaurant Association’s Women’s Auxiliary. Along with her husband, she taught weekly Bible studies for almost 15 years in their Venice community. She also served faithfully as a Venice Hospital volunteer, Community Civic Association, and facilitated weekly exercise classes.

Peggy and Frank loved to travel and were able to visit some 50 different countries and took 20 cruises! They often travelled with friends or family and loved to minister as opportunities became available. Peggy played piano and organ beautifully for many events, and even played the organ for her church choir at the Royal Albert Hall in London during the World Pentecostal Convention.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Dr. Frank Romanelli; son Kevin Romanelli (Gloria); grandchildren, Amanda K. Fergusson (Derek), Chet Grinaldi (Whitney); great-grandchildren Liam Fergusson, Kellan Fergusson, Zuri Grinaldi and John Levi Grinaldi; brother, Robert Conner; and sister Ella Jean Allyne (Gary). She was preceded in death by her parents, sons Dean and Kent as well as her sister-in-law, Billie Conner and daughter Sharon.

Peggy will be interred in the Sarasota National Cemetery on December 28th at 10 a.m. Their pastor, the reverend Phil Enloe, will be officiating. they are members of Harvest Chapel Church in Venice, FL. Please join us in celebration of her life.
