Obituary

It is with great sadness to share the October 2, 2023, passing of Penny Hollosy, 76, following a courageous battle with Alzheimers Disease. Penny was an only child and was raised in Vermilion, Ohio, by her parents Sol and Rhea.

After graduating from Vermilion High School, Penny received her Bachelor of Arts from Adrian College. Her career in education spanned 30 years as a teacher and administrator for the Adrian Public School system.  Pennys passion was helping her students and ensuring they were successful throughout their high school journey.  She shared her boundless energy and a passion for learning with thousands of students.

Penny was a devoted wife and mother, ensuring that above all, her family was her top priority. The simplest pleasures in life brought the greatest joy to Penny.  She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling during countless school breaks to see her immediate family in Florida. Penny also shared many interests including golf, gardening, events, or quiet time reading at home. Penny had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily activities while her beauty and pleasant personality was contagious.

Upon retirement, Penny and Lynn expanded their love of travel with trips spanning the globe. Many memories were shared during this time abroad, exploring the United States, Europe, the Caribbean, and many other ports of call.

Penny will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 55 years, Lynn Hollosy; sons Robb (Erin) of Strongsville, Ohio, and Michael of Orlando, Florida. She will also be greatly missed by her grandchildren Lauren and Bennet, numerous family members and countless friends. Penny was preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of Penny’s life will be scheduled for a future date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the Alzheimers Association, www.alz.org.
