Obituary
Philip A. Baschal, age 87, of Ocala, Florida passed away suddenly on March 21st at West Marion Hospital. He was born on December 16, 1936, to his parents Edwin and June Baschal in Detroit Michigan. Philip was a journeyman electrician. In his early adulthood, he enjoyed stock car racing at Flat Rock Speedway. Local sports to include the Detroit Lions football, Detroit Redwings Hockey, Detroit Tigers Baseball and UofM football. He enjoyed motorcycle riding for many years. He supported his daughters in athletics by being a member of the Huron Athletic Booster club. He worked for many years as the Huron Township electrical inspector. He lived in Southeastern Michigan until he moved to Florida in 1996. He became very involved in woodworking and spent many years as a member of the Cracker Workshop Woodworkers Club. His family and friends will always remember him as a hard worker and very social person with a sense of humor.
Philip is survived by his brothers, Karl and Dan Baschal; his sister, Marti DeWolf; his daughter, Robin and her husband Joe; daughter, Joyce and her husband Ken; daughter, Ruth and her husband Pete; his grandchildren, Samantha, Amanda, Justin, Arron, Rob, Dominic and Joe; and many great grandchildren. He is also survived by his Girlfriend and companion of several years, Patty Hartwell.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Karen; and wife, Gloria.
A Memorial will be held on Saturday April 13th at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home, 954 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ste 200, Ocala, FL 34470. The visitation will be from 1-3pm with the service starting at 3pm.
