Obituary
Raymond M. Martin, 53, of Ocala, FL passed away March 13, 2017. Born in Columbus, MS. His father was in the U.S. Air Force, and upon graduation from high school, Ray entered and served in the U.S Air Force as well. He came to the Ocala area in 2001 from East Moline, IL.
He was a customer service representative and was a D.J. for special events. He loved most genres of music, funk, motown and country being his favorites and anything Elvis. He loved Comic book heroes and movies. One of his most favorite movies was The Quiet Man with John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara. He enjoyed attending Renaissance Fairs with family and friends. Ray will be remembered always as being “The life of the Party” and a gentle giant and for his love of all things related to Pirates – the swashbuckling kind.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Martin; children, Giselle Zaiss–Martin and son, Tristan Martin both of Ocala; sister-in-law, Margaret Lindstrom of East Moline, IL and brother-in-law, Charles L. “Rusty” Martin of Matherville, IL. He is also survived by his beloved dogs, Elvis and Morticia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Morris Turner, Sr. and Shirley Jean Turner and his mother and father-in-law, Carolyn F. and Charles H. Martin.
