Obituary

In loving memory of a Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother who departed her family on September 23, 2023.

Rebecca was born in Rutland, Vermont on January 23rd 1969 to Cecile Gilligan “Lafond” and James Gilligan. She was the youngest of 15 children.

She is survived by her Husband Willie Evans, 3 sisters, Linda Rixon, Diane Furfaro, Jeanette Vasbinder, 5 Daughters, Jessica Gilligan, Madeline Bryant, Melissa Gilligan, Crystal Smith and Jennifer Lange, step children, 24 grandchildren and 2 great grandkids.

Rebecca was 15 when she moved to Volusia County Florida, where she raised her 5 daughters with love and devotion. Rebecca was known for her love for friends and family. She was known for always having a smile on her face. Rebecca was always kind to everyone she would meet. She worked as a cook and kitchen manager most of her life because of her love for cooking. At times she enjoyed volunteering with her daughters to help others in need during the holidays. Now in her retirement she mostly enjoyed being with her husband Willie and spending as much time with her children, grandkids and great grandkids as possible. She was most proud of being a mom to her children and an amazing grandma to her grandkids.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Bibleway Church of God In Christ located at 281 Flamingo Rd, Oak Hill, FL 32759, on October 14, at 1:00 PM.

    Becky,
You will forever be in my heart. You always treated me like I was one of your own even when i got yelled at, mostly because of Mandy.. You were always there and helped me get through alot of hard times in my life. I am so thankful I got to be apart of you and your families lives. You will forever remain in my heart ❤️ I love you
