REBECCA S. FORT              

1938 – 2021

 Rebecca Sparks Coombs Virginia Fort passed away on October 13, 2021 in Clermont, Florida at 83 years old. She was born on May 24, 1938 in Clarkson, Cache County, Utah to Herbert Hans Sparks and Lucetta Ravsten. She was the youngest of three children, with Peggy Dean (Sterling) Godfrey and Ted Lee (Janice Spicer).

 Becky grew up in Clarkston, Utah. Her family loved camping and fishing and working on the farm. She played the accordion for many years and performed with different groups for different events. She loved sports and played softball, volleyball and golf. She also loved school and was the first girl elected as Studentbody President in her 9th grade year at Smithfield Jr. High School. She was the Historian all through high school and graduated from North Cache High School in 1956.

 She was married to Daryl H Coombs in the Logan Temple in 1957 and later divorced in 1992. They had three children together: Julie Dee (Keith) Swenson; Jill (Doug) Rose; and Blake Daryl Coombs. They have 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren with number 7 coming very soon. They also welcomed three Navajo children as part of their  family through the Indian Placement Program: Ronnie Lee, Sampson Lee, and Marcie Suneson.

 Becky worked for the IRS in various positions over several years and eventually was recruited to work in Washington, D.C. After retirement, she married Carl Virginia in 1993 in the Washington D.C. Temple. Carl had two sons, Mark (Lisa) and Jeff. They lived in North Carolina and then moved to Florida, where Carl passed away in 2000.

 She married Royal Gordon Fort in 2002 in the Orlando Temple.  He has a living son Darrin (Suzanne) and a deceased son and daughter. They lived in Florida and enjoyed a wonderful life of golfing, traveling and serving together. Becky was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many different callings, including the Orlando Temple. She loved to help others and will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mom, grandma and friend!

 A special thank you to Cornerstone Hospice and their wonderful caregivers!

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, sister and a niece and nephew.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the Sumterville, Florida ward building; 2330 County Road 528; Sumterville, FL. Inurnment will be at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Trinity, Florida.
