Obituary
Donald Harry Castagnasso, 91, of Ft. McCoy, FL passed away on December 24,2015 under the care of Hospice of Marion County. He was born September 5, 1924 in Sonoma, CA to the late Harry Anthony and Irene Wilma Castagnasso. He moved to Ft. McCoy in 1986 from Charlotte, MI where he farmed and raised Clydesdales.
He served honorably in the Army Air Corp 306th Bomb Group flying in a B-17 during WW2.
His first love was of his family, followed by his dedication to breeding and showing Clydesdale horses. He was an international judge for all the draft breeds. He also drove and worked with the Budweiser Clydesdales for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Milton Castagnasso and son Dennis Castagnasso.
He is survived by his loving wife Billie Castagnasso, daughters Simone Goyeneche,and Carrie (Lawrence) Hudson; sons Barry Castagnasso, Michael(Shelley) Castagnasso, Anthony (Maureen) Castagnasso, and step son Terry Hartwell, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice of Marion County will be appreciated.
A Memorial Service/Celebration of Life will be conducted Tuesday January 5, 2016 at 2:00pm at Baldwin Brothers, 954 E. Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL
