Obituary
Richard G. “Dick” Burnham, age 92, of Ocala, Fl. passed away Saturday, June 15, surrounded by Family.
Dick is survived by his beloved “Bride” of nearly 70 years, Louise M. ( Zierk) Burnham, and their six children; Patti (Philip) Digrazia, Charles Burnham, Dennis Burnham, Genevieve (Glenn) Stocks, Bonnie Burnham and James Burnham, 10 grandchilren, 22 great grandchildren, several cousins, and multiple nieces and nephews.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Edward A. and Genevieve H. (Beato) Burnham, his five siblings and two granddaughters, Dena (DiGrazia) Williams, and Jolene Burnham.
Dick was born in Chicago,IL, on November 30, 1926, the youngest of six siblings. He grew up and attended school in Chicago, as well. At age 17 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served on the USS Frank E. Evans in the Pacific during WW ll. Dick remained proud of his service throughout his life.
Dick was employed early in life at Northwestern Railroad, then embarked upon his career as an ironworker and machinery mover. Relocating to Georgia in 1982, then to Florida in 2006. He enjoyed fishing, working in his shop, building furniture and repairing clocks, which became lifelong hobbies. He cherished spending time with his family, was known by all as a “great” guy, and brought joy to everyone around him with his quick wit and engaging sense of humor. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all that knew him.
