Richard J. Clifford, age 89, of Edgewater, Florida died Thursday, 1/2/2014 at Bert Fish Hospital New Smyrna Beach, Florida. He was born November 17, 1924 in Columbus, Ohio a son of the late John A and Rose A (Meyers) Clifford. Survived by is his wife of 62 years, Gladys E. Clifford and children, Patricia J (Bradley) Fitzgerald of Columbus, Ohio, Mary L (Michael) Heasley of Uniontown, Ohio and daughter-in law (Gail Clifford-McLean) of Howell, Michigan; grandchildren, Patrick Heasley, Megan Clifford, Erika Clifford, John M. Clifford, Joseph M. Clifford; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John M. Clifford and brothers, John M., Robert G. Paul W., and Charles E. Clifford.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, WWII, metallurgical engineer retired from Bendix, Elyria, Ohio and a member of Sacred Heart Church.
A private family memorial service will be at Sacred Heart Church on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 1 p.m.
