Obituary
Richard (Dick) L. Miller passed away at Tavares Hospice House on December 25, 2016. He was born June 19,1931 in Indiana, PA. Dick formerly lived in Derry, PA before moving to Tavares in 2004.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Barbara (Bushky); his faithful, baby girl, Princess; daughter, Debra K. Grote of PA; son, Randy James of PA; nephews, Don and Mark Work of IN and PA respectively; sister, Judi of Alexander, VA; and a special Daughter-of-the-Heart, Carol Ann McLean of Derry; and countless friends. Dick was preceded in death by his father and mother; his sister, Audrey Work; and son, Richard K. Miler.
Dick was a gentle man and fiercely loyal to his family and friends. But, his first love was truck driving. In 1992, he retired from Latrobe Steel/Timken Company. He was also recognized in that field by being awarded Truck Driver of the Year by Fox & James Nationlease. His award reads…skill and excellence for driving over 40 years and 3,000,000 miles without an accident. Plus, an award from T.R.A.L.A. (Truck Renting and Leasing Association) for excellence, leadership, professionalism and safety throughout his career in truck transportation.
He was a Christian and active member of Hillside United Methodist Church in Derry, PA since 1963. While living in Florida he attended First United Methodist Church in Eustis.
Dick was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army with the rank of corporal and will be inurned at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
