Obituary

Richard M Smith, 63 passed away on May 21, 2014 of cancer at Halifax Hospice in Port Orange.   He was survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda Smith, sister Nancy Maulorico of Hayden, ID, brother, Steven Smith of Edgewater, FL .   Richard was born in Orlando, Fl and moved to Volusia County in 1974. In 2004 he took early retirement and he and Linda spent many years living aboard their boat and cruising it to the Bahamas. In 2007 they moved to Welaka, FL.  Richard was a software engineer most recently employed by LSI Inc. in Jacksonville. He was previously employed by Authentec in Melbourne, FL.  Richard's family wish to thank the many caring Doctor and Nurses who treated and gave special care to him during his stays at Baptist Medical Center Downtown, Baptist South in Jacksonville and Halifax Health in Daytona Beach.   In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
