Obituary

Richard (Rick) L Ramsey passed away peacefully and gained his angel wings on Friday, August 19, 2022. It was just 10 days after celebrating his 70th birthday. He fought a good fight. He finished his course. The race is done, the battle won, it is finished! Rick was born in Latonia Kentucky and lived in Cincinnati and Hamilton Ohio most of his adult life. He graduated from Elder High School in 1970 and then attended Cincinnati Technical College. He was a member of the Pipefitters Local 392 for 45 years. He was employed by Peck Hannaford Briggs for most of those years. He married Julie Steinke in 1991 and they spent the last 32 years of his life together in a collaborative and caring relationship based on mutual love and support to each other. He retired to Florida in 2019. There are several adjectives we keep seeing in the condolences received by the family: kind, gentle, sweet man, special person, awesome, fun to be around, great friend. …Life is an echo – what you send out comes back to you. He is preceded in death by his parents Harrison L Ramsey and Delores C (Gering) Ramsey. He is survived by his wife Julie, his brothers in law Kevin and James along with several distant relatives and hundreds of friends. Memorials may be given to Parkinson.org or Lifepath Hospice in Ricks name. The family of Rick would like to thank the daily caregivers at Pacifica and Lifepath Hospice who cared for Rick as one of their own family. I can no longer see you with my eyes or touch you with my hands but I will feel you in my heart forever. ❤️ Rest In Peace Darling

I met Rick when he accompanied Julie to Pelican Players Community Theater events. By the time I met him, he had already come down with Parkinsons. He struggled to get around. It was obvious that it was a challenge to be there but you could tell he was doing it for Julie. The love he had for you, Julie, was obvious. Hold on to your great memories.

Rick meant a lot to me as a personal friend and a work friend - we spent many hours bouncing work ideas around and always talked for a long time about whatever the most recent car race was. Something we both enjoyed completely. We had a great trip to Indy to Schumacher Racing's shop that Rick was so generous to set up with his friend there - the red carpet was rolled out for us - what a memory. It was always a nice visit from Rick and Rick and Julie to Peck after he retired to get caught up on what everyone was up to. And after we were all retired, so nice to stay in touch. I missed seeing Rick more frequently and will miss him now. A good friend forever, go in peace. And Julie, stay in touch - he couldn't have managed without you. Cindy's and my best to you. Jim
