Obituary
On July 15, 2023 Rita Gale (May) Hinkle, got her wings and went to fly with the angels.
Born July 18,1949 in McVeigh, KY at home and pronounced dead when she was born by the doctor. Rita went on to show the world no one was telling her what to do. Rita was the eldest of 7, she was known for her strong will, wild personality and extremely loving, caring nature. Rita was always the Mom, especially to those friends of her daughters whom still call her Ma Rita. She loved with all her heart and would defend her family with all she had in her. After marrying her husband Avery at the young age of 17 and having 2 children and then losing her husband at the tender age of 27. Rita moved to Illinois where she raised her children with her partner Joe whom she lost when she was only 37. Being widowed twice Rita and her sister Diane moved in together and stayed with each other till the very end. Rita was many things to so many people, daughter, wife, sister, mom, friend, and loving faithful Christian and I would say next to her children her proudest day was when she was baptized. Rita held many jobs, she was a Domestic Engineer, Waitress, Banquet Facility Manager, Mortgage Post Closer. Rita loved the Lord and would say the most beautiful heartfelt blessings. I know now the gates of Heaven opened to her and she has entered and is now whole again.
Rita is Preceded in death by her husband Avery Neil Hinkle, her partner Joseph Toby Patrone and her parents James L. and Deloris L. May Her brother James T. May (Phyllis), her sister Loretta Krueger (Bill).

Momma Mia, you will always be in our hearts and we will never forget you. We love you so much. Rest in peace.
Proverbs 31:28-29 – Her children rise up and call her blessed, her husband also, and he praises her. Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace – Amen.
May almighty God bless us with his peace and strength, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Celebration of life will be held in McVeigh, Kentucky on July 28th. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shriners organization.
