Rita V. LaChapelle, 82 of Ocoee died Sunday, July 1, 2012 at home with her family by her side. Rita was born September 30, 1929 in Turners Falls, Massachusetts to the late Rose and Wilfred Chartier. She married the love of her life Donald LaChapelle on December 27th, 1955 and they settled in Texas and Connecticut to raise their three children. Rita worked as a dental assistant for many years. Her spirited disposition and her “In Charge” way of life taught her children “To always be prepared”. They will always remember her strength and loving guidance. Rita and her husband moved from Connecticut to Ocala in 1991. She was a member of the New England Club and enjoyed reminiscing of all the years spent in Connecticut and Massachusetts. Rita was preceded in death by her husband in 1996. She is survived by her devoted children, Karen and son-in-law, Mark Keith, Dave LaChapelle and Edward “Chuck” LaChapelle all of Ocoee; step-mother, Cecile Chartier; four grandchildren, Eric White, Breanne Keller, Trevor Keith, and Justin LaChapelle; great grandchildren, Colton White, Ryan LaChapelle, Brooklyn LaChapelle, and Tyson LaChapelle; sister, Adella T. Wrobleski and brother, David Chartier. A life celebration will be held on Friday, July 13th, 2012 at 10:00 A.M., Holy Family Catholic Church, 5125 South Apopka Vineland Road, Orlando, FL 32819. Reception following Memorial Service at 9301 Lake Lotta Circle, Gotha FL 34734. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to VITAS Hospice, 12751 W. Colonial Drive, Winter Gardens, FL 34787, for all of their services we will be forever grateful.
