Obituary
Robert J. Ebel, 83, of Port Orange, Florida passed away on December 10, 2016 at his residence with his daughter by his side. He was born on February 9, 1933 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Clement and Marcella (Lambert) Ebel. Robert was a retired foreman from Blaw-Knox Steel Company in Pittsburgh before owning and operating, along with his wife, the Whispering Waves Motel in Daytona Beach Shores. He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. Robert was an avid Steelers and Penguins fan, and his hobbies included wood-working and model trains. He enjoyed playing PlayStation and was a great lover of dogs. Robert is survived by his only child, friend and caregiver – his daughter, Alison M. Sylvester; his sister, Carol Dominick; his brother, Raymond Ebel (Avelin); his two dogs, Angelo and Maxwell; and many loving nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Carole (Ferraro) Ebel, three brothers, Lawrence (Larry) Ebel, Clement Jr. (Junie), Francis Ebel and three sisters, Edna Lessner, Mary Claire Reuss, and Jean Perkovich. A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 8:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Robert to the Halifax Health Hospice, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Arrangements are in the care and trust of Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation Society, Port Orange, Florida.
