Obituary
Robert J. McClelland age 77 of Belleview passed away January 13, 2019. First born to Joseph f. McClelland and Blanche E. Sandburg in St. Paul, Minnesota on March 3, 1941. He moved with his family to Tavares, Fl. in July of 1958 finishing his last year of High School in Tavares. Two years later he moved to Leesburg, Fl. and after a few jobs he opened his own body shop which he continued to do for the next 50 plus years.
On July 11, 1977 he received Jesus Christ into his life and became a Christian. He developed a love for music in his early 40’s and became a drummer for the Penny Schmitz band for 10 years. He then emceed and performed at the Orange blossom opry for 6 years. Robert traveled around the state playing bass for the gospel band Spiritual Consulators out of St. Petersburg Fl, he played bass and vocals with his wife Sarah in the Jerry “D” and the Allstyles trio. Robert also had a calling to entertain and bless residents of nursing and assisted living homes which he did for over 35 years.
He is survived by his wife Sarah A. McClelland of many years, brother William S. McClelland Altoona, Fl, brother, Dale L. McClelland of Apopka, Fl. and sister Sandra J. Oberholtzer of Leesburg, Fl.
A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday January 26, 2019 at Baldwin Brothers funeral chapel 3990 E. SR 44 Ste. 105 Wildwood, Fl.
