Obituary
Robert Ray Grant “Bob” age 89, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 4th, 2018 at the Legacy House hospice in Ocala, Florida. Bob was born January 11th, 1929 in Meridian, MS to Ben Ray Grant and Anice Lee (Welborn) Grant. Bob was a U.S. Navy veteran serving on the USS Lindenwald. Bob worked as a printer and Linotype operator for various newspapers, later for the Government Printing Office (GPO) Washington, DC until becoming an Editor for the US House of Representatives, Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, in Washington, DC. His retirement years were spent in Ocala, FL. Bob loved to fish, golf, play cards, and loved his family and his good friend Ray Myers. He was a member of the Free Masons. He attended Christ the King Anglican Church in Ocala. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Samuel Edward Grant. He is survived by his loving wife Joyce Bean Grant; his three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Larry Grant and his wife Liz, Fredericksburg, VA; Mark Ray Grant and his wife Margriet, Warrenton, VA; William Bartie Grant and his wife Kathy, Punta Gorda, FL; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and his sister Nancy Tullos.
