Obituary

Zacharias, Rodney W., 92, passed away on November 17, 2021, in Ocala, Florida. Rodney was born in Racine, Wisconsin on March 23, 1929, to parents William and Mary Zacharias.

Rodney was a veteran with the United States Navy, proudly serving his country from the years 1948 to 1952. He was with the US Navy Seabees, builder third class and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. Rodney enjoyed woodworking and was a wood pattern maker for 40 years. He was also an avid bicycle rider and had 40,000 miles logged in on his bike at the time of his passing. During his time living in Ocala, Rodney worked as a security guard for 17 years at Oak Run.

Rodney is survived by his wife, Karen Zacharias, of Ocala, FL; son, Steven J. Zacharias, of Caledonia, WI; stepsons, Jerald F. Burnett, (Laurie) of Zion, IL, James E. Burnett, (Denise) of Phoenix, AZ; stepdaughter, Tamara G. Burnett, of Kenosha, WI; Step grandchildren, Cheryl, Jake, Rachel, Timothy, Crystal, Jerry Jr., Bryant, Ashleigh, Tyler, and Three Step Great Grandchildren; nephew, Roland A. Lee, and Andrew. He was preceded in death by sons, Thomas D. Zacharias, Brian Zacharias, sister, Virginia M. Lee.

    It’s been many years since we have seen you Rod. You are such a genuinely nice man and you will be missed! We have great memories of bike rides, having you and Grandma camp in your camper in the driveway, playing pennies and swimming. Thank you for great memories and always being so kind to my family. We adored you! ❤️
