Obituary
Roger Novak, 75, of Port Orange, Florida, passed away on January 21st, 2018.
Roger was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey on May 25th, 1942. He was the son of John Novak and Carolyn Anderson. Roger graduated from Perth Amboy Technical High School and then honorably served in the United States Navy, spending a great deal of time on the USS Springfield.
Roger was married to Nancy Ann Simms, she passed away much too early in 2001 and was the love of his life, he has now joined her in heaven.
Roger worked as a machinist for the majority of his life. He was an avid sports enthusiast and big fan of the New York Jets. He was also actively involved in volunteering at local community organizations. He served as a long time trustee at the Port Orange Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #4089, and was an active member of the American Legion Post #270 in Port Orange, Florida.
Roger is survived by: sister, Marie Francy, New Jersey; son, Jason Novak, Alabama; daughter, Jenny Thatcher, Florida ;daughter, Lisa Rathbun, New Jersey; sister-in-law and husband, Jeanette and Gene Miller, Florida, in addition to many other family members and many cherished friends.
The family of Roger Novak wishes to give special thanks to Bob and Sharon Braun and all the members and volunteers of the Port Orange Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #4089 for all the years of happiness they brought to him.
The memorial service will be held at 1:30pm on February 25th at the Port Orange Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #4089, located at 5130 S Ridgewood Ave, Port Orange, FL 32127.
