Obituary
Roger Loyal Worden, 86, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021 in Clermont, Florida. Roger had a lifelong passion for the piano and was a self-taught musician who developed a unique jazz style. Born and raised in Chicago, he moved to Orlando in 1955 and joined the Navy in 1956 where he began his professional career playing in a rock and roll band. After the Navy he continued his career by playing in piano bars in Orlando, eventually landing in the Langford Hotel where he performed for 20 years. For a short while he was music conductor for Tiny Tim, and for Frankie Fontaine. Roger’s love for the piano was so great that he learned the inner workings of the instrument and made restoring and rebuilding pianos his lifelong hobby. He was gentle, generous, loved to laugh and never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his parents Loyal and Helen Griswold Worden. He is survived by his life partner, Marian Humberson; daughters, Debi Bradfield, Gina Bosic; sister, Julia Worden and Brother Donald Worden.
