Obituary
Roy M. Garcia, 60, of Ft. Myers, FL passed away on November 6, 2021, at Specialty Hospital in Fort Myers. He was born on November 30, 1960 in Memphis, Texas to Jose Nabor and Lucia Martinez. Roy was self-employed and was known and loved by everyone in the community. Many knew him affectionately as “Big Daddy Roy.”
He was an avid billiards player and especially skilled at 8-ball, winning many tournaments. Roy would be found every Sunday watching football as he was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. He was a devoted and proud father, and the best grandfather, spoiling each of his grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Garcia of Ft. Myers, FL; his sons Reynaldo Garcia of Lehigh Acres, FL, and Rigo Garcia of Lehigh Acres, FL; his grandchildren, Gabriella Garcia, Roy Garcia, Reynaldo Garcia Jr., Ethan Garcia, Daniel Garcia, Reyana Garcia, and Noah Garcia. The family is thankful they were blessed with an upstanding and loving role model touching so many lives in our community, and thank God for the time and memories that will be cherished forever. The family takes comfort that he is now reunited with his parents and his son Roy V. Garcia, whom they lost too soon in 2020.
A Viewing will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Baldwin Brothers, A Funeral and Cremation Society, 4320 Colonial Blvd, Ft. Myers, FL.
A Mass of Christian Burial Friday, November 19, 2021 beginning at 10am at Jesus the Worker Catholic Church, 881 Nuna Ave., Ft. Myers, FL, interment immediately to follow at Ft. Myers City Cemetery, Calvary Gardens, Michigan Ave. Fort Myers
