Russell F. Chambers, 72, of New Smyrna Beach died August 12, 2010 at the Hospice Care Center. Russell was born July 27, 1938 in Dublin, Ireland. He has been a resident of New Smyrna Beach for the past 26 years coming here from California. Russell owned the Valdora Court Motel for many years. He was a volunteer with C.O.P.S (Citizens on Patrol) in New Smyrna Beach and will be remember for as a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather. Russell was a honest, hard working, dependable, kind hearted man.
He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Chambers and granddaughter, Hillary Curtis. Russell is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Joan; devoted children, Jacqueline (Duane) Enslow of Mission Viejo, CA, Patricia (Robert) Curtis of New Smyrna Beach and David Chambers of New Smyrna Beach; four grandchildren, Kristopher and Andrea Enslo and Alicia and Meaghan Curtis; siblings, Wendy (Mike) Mello, Jack Chambers, Mary Elizabeth Hartnett and Kathleen Askew.
A celebration of Russell's life will be held on 2:00 PM, Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at the Southeast Volusia Hospice Care Center, 4140 S. Ridgewood Avenue, Edgewater, FL.
