Obituary

Ruth (Ruthie) Gotberg, 81, of The Villages, passed away on January 27 at the Ted & Diane Brandley Hospice House. Born in Highland Park, Michigan, she came to this area in 2004 from Maryland.  Ruthie was a retired secretary. She was a member of the First Baptist Church at The Villages. An accomplished painter, Ruthie worked in China painting, Swedish Rosmaling and produced a lot of decorative art. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved husband of 60 years, Russ, sons, Stephen Gotberg, Glenn Gotberg and Douglas Gotberg, her sister, Dee Ofiesh, brother, Jim Porter, her 7 precious granddaughters, Alexandria, Sophie, Rachel, Linnea, Kariana, Krystyna and Gracie, and her great granddaughters Brooke and the very anxiously awaited Freya Ruth, who is due anytime. The family will celebrate her life with a service on Sunday, February 12 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church at The Villages. Memorials in her name may be made to the First Baptist Church at The Villages for the Bell Choir, 7570 SE Hwy 42, Summerfield, FL 34491.
