Obituary
Ruth Joyce Flint (72), of Leesburg, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2018 at her home surrounded by family after a long courageous battle with cancer. Ruth Resided in Monroe County,Pennsylvania for 35 years while raising her family. She was a current member of the S. 14th St., Church of Christ. Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Kenneth Flint, her twin-children, daughter, Kimberly Derr (husband James ), and son David Flint (wife Diana).
Ruth’s greatest pride was her four grandchildren, Zachary, Olivia, Matthew and Daniel all of East Stroudsburg, PA.
Ruth is survived by her siblings,Barbara ,Irvie (wife Faye),Floyd (wife Shirley), Lillie (husband Bill),and Elsie (husband Hartmut), mother-in-law Waunita, brother-in-law Tim (wife Sue), and many nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her sister Reba and a baby brother.
Ruth’s Passion was taking care of her family and being with her many friends. She was a very social person who love to make people happy whether it was cooking your favorite meal or a card sent, you always felt her love. She will be remembered by many as Mother Ruth or Ruthie.
Memorial services and a celebration of life to be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Ruth’s wishes were for donations to be made to 1506 S. 14th St., Leesburg, FL. 34748 Church of Christ for their “Flower Power Ministry “something Ruth was a proud participant in and found great joy! At the families request , when you think of Ruth please extend a random act of kindness to someone in her memory.
Although I did not have the pleasure of knowing Ruth personally I do have the pleasure of knowing her daughter Kim. It is my honor to call Kim a friend and the person she is today I am sure is directly related to the awesome mother & father who raised her. My prayers to Ruth’s family as you celebrate wonderful woman’s life.
