Obituary
To us, Sandra Lee Stagner was our loving Mom. To others she was Sandie, Sissy, Aunt Sandie, Grandma, Mema, and Grandma Sandie. She passed away at Gulf Coast Medical Center on May 25, 2019 at the age of 71.
Sandie was born in Lamar, Colorado to Vivian Darlene and Arthur “Art” Stagner. She remained in Colorado until her marriage with former husband, George “Rick” Bauer (Tammy), then moved to Alaska, then Long Island, and finally Florida.
Sandie was a multi-talented career woman. She started as a hairdresser, working alongside her own mother, then moved into a career in Mary Kay (whom she met in person). She then went on to Sarah Coventry, Tupperware, and learned how to become a nail technician. Finally, she became the owner of her own full-service salon, The Nail Connection. Sandie built a strong reputation in the nail industry and was an inspiration to many who would go on to build their own successful careers.
Our mom loved music and had a wonderful singing voice. There are so many songs that will forever remind us of her and her love for her family. She loved to go line dancing and sing at the American Legion or Moose Lodge. She most especially loved to sing lullabies, and her ability to sooth any baby was renowned. She was also talented at many crafts, but especially at embroidery. She had a gift for digitizing designs and loved embroidering and sewing. Among Sandie’s many hobbies, she also loved going to Disney with her children and grandchildren, reading books, and watching movies.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents, her sister Sherryl Leff, and her two brothers Joe Stagner and Randall Stagner. She is survived by her siblings, Linda Hanks, Rodney Stagner (Stephanie), Valerie Stagner, and Jacque Essex (Charlie). She was devoted to her 3 children Shawn, Shellie (Richie) and Jaime (Ty) and her 6 grandchildren Jacqueline (25), Jarod (22), Evelyn (7), Danielle (7), Abigail (11) and Cadence (7). She also leaves behind a large extended family who will all miss her every day.
All those who wish to join us in paying their respects and honoring her memory will be welcome at the Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home at 3420 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers on Monday, June 3rd. There will be a small reception at 2:30, followed by a memorial service at 3:30. Since our mom’s favorite color was purple, we will be wearing something with purple to honor her memory. We will also have small purple lapel pins available for friends and family attending who may not be able to, or would prefer not to, wear purple.
Thank you all so much for loving our mother. She was an amazing person and will be fiercely missed by all her family and friends.
