Obituary

Scott Andrew Munzing, 57, of Dunnellon, Florida, passed away surrounded by family on October 12, 2020.

Scott was born in Lyndhurst, New Jersey but was raised in Monroe, New York. He worked as a Data Technician in the Communications Industry.

Scott moved his family to Charlotte, North Carolina for several years. He later moved to Gainesville Florida to be closer to family while his children were little. But the Carolina’s kept calling to him, so he moved back and lived in Rock Hill. He moved to Dunnellon, Florida a few years ago to help take care of his aging parents.

Scott loved to be on the river. He loved kayaking, floating on the water, or just taking the dogs for a walk along the shore. He also enjoyed cooking and hanging out with his friends and listening to music.

Scott is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Ann (Bouchard) Munzing and brother Stephen Munzing. He is survived by his father, George Munzing; sons, Matt Munzing and Chris Munzing; brother, Jeff Munzing; sister, Monica (Tim) Crandall, granddaughter, Carson Munzing; nephews, Shane DeGroat and Samson Crandall; nieces, Mariah Lynn (Munzing) Rafford, her husband Rob and their 3 children and Amanda (Munzing) Mackey, her husband Chris and their 2 children; Sister-in-law, Barbara (Simpson) Munzing and several Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

He will be greatly missed.

    Scottso!
I’m so sorry to hear this!
Though We haven’t been in touch in quite some time. I can still remember the early days while working at Communix.
The trips to the Bronx to watch the Yankees and of course the summer of 83 working down at Asbury Park. I remember the days at the beach and I can still see your smile /laughter with each wipeout :).
Until we meet again Scott. RIP my friend!

The Munzing family were my neighbors when I first moved to Monroe. They always were the kindest people. Though I was closer in age to Jeff, Scott and Monica were always there along with their parents making for great memories growing up through High School. My heart goes out to all of Scott’s family, friends and loved ones.
