Obituary
Shirley Conley, 76, of New Smyrna Beach died on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 after a battle with lung cancer. She was born on July 15, 1939 in Quincy, Florida and resided in Miami, FL until moving to this area in 1997. She was the daughter of the late Rolph Wheeler Long and Nora Donaldson Long Bettis. Shirley was a member of Edgewater Union Church and was retired after a successful career with SunTrust Bank. She enjoyed traveling to different parts of the world with her husband and their travel club PORT and also spending time with her children. Shirley is survived by her husband, Dr. Delmer Conley, her son and daughter-in-law Ron and Deanna Jackson, her daughter and son-in-law Teresa and Martin Kansky, and her sister Nancy Wingerter. Shirley was preceded in death by her Mother and Step Father Nora and Charles Bettis, her two sisters, Doris Rogers and Margie Wynn and her deceased husbands William Jackson and Richard Truffa. The family expresses their appreciation to the staff of Brookdale Assisted Living in Port Orange, the staff of Vitas and the staff of Senior Helpers of Deland for their compassionate care of Shirley during her illness. The receiving of friends will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 2:00 – 3:00 at Edgewater Union Church in Edgewater with a Memorial Service to follow.
