Obituary
Shirley O. Bell 82, originally from Miami, Florida, and was residing in Palm Coast, Fl, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, 2/10/22 peacefully surrounded by her loving daughter, Brenda Lawson and loved ones after a month-long battle of pneumonia.
Shirley was born in Miami, Florida 4/17/1939 to Arthur Victor Lang and Thelma Adams Lang.
Shirley was the most beautiful soul, full of love and kindness, who had the Southern Bell charm, with her sweet accent and laugh, which everyone loved. Most of her Southern roots came from living in GA for decades. She was a mom to anyone who needed her and was often called “mom/mama” from everyone. She went to Coral Gables HS, where she was a majorette. She loved twirling the baton, was an avid animal lover, and loved children. Her interests were playing the piano/organ, decorating, dancing, roller skating, & music. She worked as an apartment manager and sold furniture.
Shirley was preceded in death by parents, A. Victor Lang and Thelma Adams Lang, and three siblings: Florrie Kelly Mercer, Alma Thomas, and Carolyn Benson. She is survived by daughters, Sonja Cason (Ronnie), Brenda Lawson, and Tina Holcomb, grandchildren, Tiffany Sykes, and Danielle Parker (Will), great-grandchildren, Taylor Bertie, Lane Brown, Justin Brown, Sophia Sykes, and Mason Channell, and great great-grandchild, Penelope Leon.
Celebration of Life for Shirley Bell will be held at Bings Landing by Captain’s BBQ, South Pavilion, 5862 N. Ocean Shore Blvd, Palm Coast, FL 32137, on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at 3 PM. There will be an ice cream social and BBQ, as she loved her ice cream!
In lieu of flowers, please help a special needs animal in memory of Shirley Bell. (See picture in Photos tab) This is Stormy, who has life threatening tumors. The cost is $1600, & the costs would be $1100 more for surgery. You will not only help Stormy, but his handicapped owner, who cannot afford the surgery for his precious boy. Call East Coast Animal Hospital @ 10 Florida Park Dr. 386-585-4211. Please designate that it’s for Stormy’s “operation.” Any extra donations left over, will go to other special friends of Stormy.
