Obituary
Shirley Ann Bennett of Edgewater, Florida went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 11, 2021. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband George Bennett, sons Garry Bennett and Jeff Bennett, sister Bobbie McGirt, and nephew Jerry Rodgers.
She is survived by her large extended family including her sister Carol Rodgers; grandchildren Chad Uptegraft, Amy McNeill (Birke), Lauren Webber (Jonathan), Cory Bennett (Elise Ciungan), Dave Tate (Joy), Andrea Tate (Richard Nelson), Logan Bennett; nephews Rob McGirt (Kim), Steve McGirt (Michele), Billy McGirt Jr.; nieces Patsy Rodgers and Diane Cline (Gene); daughters-in-law Jan Bennett and Terry Bennett; and many great grandchildren and great nieces and nephews.
Shirley was born in Charlotte, NC to Paul Everette Dellinger and Vertie Odell Dellinger on July 2, 1936. She married George at the age of 16 and spent much of her early life moving around the country with him during his service in the Navy. They eventually settled in central Florida and spent time in the real estate appraising and construction business. After retirement, their biggest joys were golfing with friends and traveling in their motor home to visit family. Affectionately known as Momo, Shirley is remembered for her kind heart, dry sense of humor, and love for her family.
Life Celebration is planned for 11:00 AM Saturday, April 24 at Baldwin Brothers Heritage Place 1 North Causeway New Smyrna Beach FL 32169.
